Welcome to the Artificial Intelligence Group
- The Artificial Intelligence Group is closed since 1st October 2021 and no longer active.
The Artificial Intelligence Group is closed The Artificial Intelligence group (in German: "Künstliche Intelligenz", KI) concerns itself with the development and mathematical analysis of algorithms and theoretical concepts which are applied in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The main focus is on probabilistic Bayesian methods, with whom prior knowledge as well as uncertainty can be integrated into complex models. Such models are adaptive; they can fit themselves to diverse problems through learning by examples.
One challenge are models with many variables for which we develop fast inference algorithms. Our approaches rely on methods from stochastics, statistics, information theory and statistical physics.
